Beetroot Amla shots

 I lately tried this terrific combo for the first time and totally loved the refreshing taste, to be honest I was a little sceptical to try out but I was totally amazed by the taste and not to forget the health benefits these key ingredients  like Amla, beetroot give our body which is not only rich in Iron and is  proven to have great benefits for skin and hair care,  this  is definitely the one drink which I do think is a must in daily diet to detox your body . So without much delay let's go to the recipe.


Ingredients (serves 1 person )

2 med sized gooseberries (Amla) (chop and deseeded)

small piece of beetroot

2 tbsp desiccated coconut or could use fresh coconut

1 small piece of ginger

10-12 leaves of mint 

1/4 tsp of Jeera

Method 

  • Blitz all the Ingredients mentioned above to a fine paste and 1 glass of water and blitz it one more time.
  • Strain it with the help of the strainer and Serve.

Strawberry and watermelon Juice

On a hot summer day what more do u need then a cold watermelon juice it's a perfect thirst quencher . The blend of fruits and a ting of lime gives such a lovely hype in taste to this juice ...Amazing and must on a hot summery day like today ....while I sip this juice here is the quick recipe :D




Ingredients 

1 cup of watermelon (cut into cubes ) 

4-5 strawberries 

dash of lemon juice 

Ice cubes for serving 

Method

Blend watermelon, strawberry to a fine puree and strain it if your watermelon had seeds .

Add a dash of lime and serve chilled !!!

Spinach Masala Buttermilk & Garlic Buttermilk

My friend Jayashri Baleri had come up with palak butter milk which inspired me to try out this idea and make my own masala buttermilk since then this has been my family favorite ...this is so good i simply love it :) 

Ingredients


2 cups buttermilk ( 1 and 1/4 cup water added to 3/4 cup plain yogurt and beat it really well with beater)


1 ' ginger 


1 green chilli 


1 big fistful of Palak 


generous pinch of roasted Jeera


salt to taste


Method

  • Grind green chilli , spinach leaves, ginger to a fine paste.
  • Strain the juice and add this to the buttermilk and beat it well with the help of beater.
  • Add salt and refrigerate.
  • Just before serving sprinkle a generous pinch of roasted Jeera powder.
  • Serve...its simply yummy and nutritious too....you will definitely say WOW !


Here is one more recipe which comes from my friend Asha Radhakrishna Shenoy very simple and flavourful Buttermilk with garlic ....Yum !!!!

Here goes the simple recipe  & i have used chilli flakes for hyping the taste

Ingredients


1 cup Thick yogurt  + 1 cup water (beat it together to make it thin buttermilk )


large Pinch of chilli flakes 


1 big flake of garlic (sliced )


1/4 tsp ghee


salt to taste



Method 
  • Heat ghee in a kadai add sliced garlic and fry well till light brown.
  • Now add this to the buttermilk  & the add salt and mix well 
  • Sprinkle chilli flakes on top 
  • Serve chilled ....its simply yummy and excellent for digestion :)

Kokum Buttermilk





I just love this cooling buttermilk it's so nice in summer have said to have cooling effect on your body try this drink and refresh yourself in summer....One of my most favorite drinks.

Ingredients 

9 -10 Kokum petals

5 garlic cloves

3-4 green chilies

small piece of jaggary 

salt to taste

1/2 cup well beaten curd

2 1/2 cups of water

Method
  • In a wide pan add water put kokum petals, garlic cloves, jaggary , green chillies and boil it till it is reduced a little and flavors are well infused. Add Salt.
  • Cool and strain in and mix it beaten curd and mix well. 
  • Serve chilled with a little coriander leaves. I just love this drink ...just Refreshing !!!

Strawberry - Banana Smoothie


Try this delicious Smoothie , which has got a very smooth texture and sure that ur kids will love it :) especially for those who are fussy about eating fruits this is the best way to give it to them :)


Ingredients
1 Banana

6-7 Strawberry Sliced

2 tbsp Honey
1 1/2 cup Milk 

Few strawberries for garnishing 

Method

  • Peel the Banana and cut into cubes.
  • Cut Strawberry into cubes, and now Grind this with honey and milk in juicer and blender.



  • Serve it chilled and garnish with strawberry.
