Poha Usli


250 gms Thick beaten rice(Poha)

1 tsp Mustard seeds

2 red chillies Broken into pieces

1 or 2 slit green chillies

2 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves

2 sprigs of curry leaves

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp Urad dal 

salt to taste

2 tbsp oil

grated coconut for garnishing


  • Soak the poha in water for 5 min and drain out the water completely,mix salt and sugar to it and then keep aside
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,urad dal when they splutter add curry leaves,red chilli,green chilli and fry for a minute 
  • Then add poha and mix well  and fry for a while,add salt if needed
  • Lastly add coriander leaves and garnish it with grated coconut
