Aloo Matar Gravy


1 cup boiled & cubed potatoes

1 cup boiled green peas

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp ginger-garlic-green chilli paste

1 onion chopped

1 tomato chopped

1 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

a pinch of turmeric powder

1/2 tsp sugar

1  1/2 cup water

salt to taste

2 tsp oil

2 tbsp coriander leaves for garnishing


  • Heat oil in a apn, add cumin seeds and fry till brown
  • Add onion and fry till transparent, then add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and fry till the raw smell disappears
  • Now add tomato and fry till it gets mashed well
  • Then add turmeric,chilli powder,garam masala,sugar, and mix well and fry for couple of minutes
  • Then add potato,peas and water and allow it to boil 
  • Boil it till the gravy becomes semi-thick.
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with chapathi
