Spicy Jowar Roti


1  1/2 cup Jowar flour

3/4 cup water

1 Onion finely chopped

2 tsp Ginger grated

2 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves

1 tsp Coriander Powder

1 tsp Red Chilli

2-3 Green Chilli finely chopped

1 tsp sugar

2 tbsp  Ghee

enough wheat flour for kneading

salt to taste

oil to shallow fry


  • Heat water, then add salt and when water starts to boil simmer the gas then add jowar flour,sugar onion, ginger, red chilli powder,coriander powder, coriander leaves,salt. Let it boil for 2 minutes.
  • Remove it in a bowl and mix well . Allow it to cool then add ghee and enough wheat flour to knead  a soft dough
  • Make small balls of the dough  and roll it into round shape chapathi or take a plastic sheet and grease it with oil and then take small part of the dough and pat it with ur hands to form a round shape roti
  • Heat a tava and shallow fry the roti with oil on both the side till golden brown and serve hot
