Colocassia(Arbi) Masala Fry


10-12 small colocassia(Arbi)

5-6 garlic finely chopped

4-5 green chilli slit

oil to deep fry

1/2 Cup rice flour

For the paste

7-8 fried red chilli(soaked in water)

3/4 cup raw rice

1 tsp coriander seeds

salt to taste


  • Grind Fried red chilli,raw rice,coriander seeds and salt with little water to a smooth paste
  • Cook the colocassia in a pressure cooker till one whistle
  • Take it out and peel the colacassia and apply the sufficient paste on it and keep aside for 15 min( if the paste is left over u can store it in refrigerator to use it next time & can be stored for a week)
  • Spread rice flour in a plate
  • Then Coat all the colocassia one by one with the rice flour and keep it ready in a plate
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the colocassia till golden brown and crisp
  • Drain it in a kitchen towel and keep aside
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan,add chopped garlic and fry till light brown,then add slit green chillies and fry for a min and then add the fried Colocassia and mix well and serve
